Drywall and Stone!

Here are some pictures of the drywall and stone progress. The drywall is all hung, and in the process of being mudded and taped. The stone is almost all up and the grouting has started. We spent some time this weekend mulling over paint chips, trying to decide on a few color options to give to our builder, so they can pick up some samples.

I leave town for a few days and...

...progress speeds up on the house! Craziness! I headed to my parents for a few days to help them with their move and apparently lots has been going on at the house! Thankfully, my hubby has been good about sending me pictures of the progress, so I thought I would share!

Stone...we have stone! Its starting to go up, and I can't wait to see it in person when I get back!

Oh.my.goodness....the long awaited kitchen cabinets arrived!!!

We have drywall! Its pretty much all hung, next is taping and mudding! This is the girls bedroom.

We have cement in the garage! Oh and a fully insulated garage at no extra charge to us (thanks to the insulators, who weren't suppose to insulate the whole garage, just part attached to garage, but didn't get the memo!)

View walking into the master bedroom, that door is to the closet.

We have a deck! Still needs stairs and railing.
My new kitchen faucet with soap dispenser and quartz sample! Oh my, I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

I got a glimpse at my new farmhouse sink! LOVE IT! Will take doing dishes to a whole new level ;)

New tile selection for the fireplace hearth. The slate didn't pan out that I first picked. This is a porcelain tile and the color is called 'grape jelly'. It is a deep purplish-brown. The fireplace surround is the 2X4 glass tile in 'brandy' color.

Told you lots of progress has been going on at the house! I can't wait to return home and see it all for myself!

Let's Get this Show on the Road!!!

There is more progress being made at the house! Last weekend, I spent some time writing God's Word on the 'doorposts' of our house. We never dreamed we would build a house, let alone one that really reflects our love for the Arts & Crafts style...God is good.

The top verse here is written in our future 'homeschool room', "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts on your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:6-9.
Emma and Bree wrote some 'stuff' of their own :)

My kitchen faucet arrived! What a task it was picking this out!!! And once I decided and ordered one, I later found out it was no longer available...this faucet is actually the third one I ordered! It wasn't the exact design I was going for, but until you have attempted to find a 'polished nickel bridge faucet' that isn't over $1000, you wouldn't get what a score this was at $284.10! I am really happy with it and super excited to see it with my farmhouse sink and inset cabinets!
The faucet didn't come with a soap dispenser, so I picked this Kohler one out to go with it.

The activity at the house this week included insulation and shingles! What a difference it makes putting shingles on a house! I am really happy with the color (its so hard to know picking it out from a small swatch!).

The garage...it was only suppose to be insulated on the left side that connects to the house, but my builder said when he stopped in to check on the insulators he noticed they already did most of the rest of the garage and instead of having them rip it out, he just had them finish it off...so free insulated garage!

Door way from the garage into my mudroom.

Emma and Bree's room. Emma kept commenting on how much 'homier' the house felt.

Beautiful sunset!

The girls have been begging Shane to put them in these wire bins every time we go to the house...Emma is pretending to be captured! I am assuming these will be used when pouring the driveway.

My appliances also arrived, we ended up storing them at my builder's warehouse since they aren't ready for them at the house.
Today, more work on the roof was done, and a crew was there prepping the house for the stone. They will be back on Wednesday to lay the stone. When Shane stopped by after work, he ran into the drywaller, who said he will begin on Monday. He also said he lives in Fallbrook too and that we will love the neighborhood! We are getting pretty excited to explore it! When the girls and I drove thru today there were kids playing down at the stream and others having a lemonade stand :)

We also sat down with our builders this week to go over timeline and budget. Looks like July 15th is our new close date we are shooting for (It was June 13th, then June 24th). Shane will actually be gone the 15th climbing a mountain in Colorado, so we will probably have to push it to the 16th, or before the 15th if possible.
It feels good to finally feel like this show is on the road...God is good!!!
