We have walls!

We are finally seeing some progress this week and are super excited about it! According to our construction schedule we are a few weeks behind, but my builder says the framers shouldn't take as long as scheduled and should be able to make up some time. I snapped the photo below today while the girls and I watched some of the walls go up! I am pretty sure I saw them putting up my master bedroom door. We didn't get out since there were people working, but Shane drove by after he got off work and no one was there so he walked thru the house! Lucky!

Updated view of the house with Prairie style window change.
We decided to go with the Prairie style grilles for our windows. We have been picking out stuff left and right, and feel like we are starting to make some headway. We however are dealing with some challenges concerning the kitchen cabinets. The bid came in $5000 over budget, but wasn't communicated to us until last week and we need to have already selected cabinets! So I am trying to figure out some other options. I really want inset cabinets, but may end up having to go with full overlay. Suppose to be getting some kitchen bids in the next couple of days, so praying God will reveal to us what the answer is!
Well, that is all for now...but should have regular progress pictures from now on! We are set to be finished 3 months from now, so lots will be happening!

Pictures of the process so far...

Our lot!

1/12/13 - The hole has been dug and footings poured!

Shane showing Emma!

1/25/13 - Forms going up for the foundation to be poured!

1/31/13 - Foundation has been poured!

2/6/13 - Forms have been removed, now awaiting the trusses to be made.

3/1/13 - Something big is about to happen!
I drove by the house today and took the last picture! The roof trusses still need to arrive, suppose to be here today or Monday. The framers are set to start framing the house on Tuesday! I am starting to get butterflies in my stomach now! The trusses took a little longer than expected, so the construction schedule shows we are a little behind, but my builder said the framers should be able to complete the framing quicker than he projected.
